New Fantasy Series Heroines and Worldbuilding News

Hello, friends. Yes, I’m still here, and yes, I’m writing.
I know this blog has been quiet for a while. I tend to spend more time over on Instagram, Threads, and Bluesky, where quick posts and little updates are easier to share between daily tasks. But I wanted to come back here, wave from the page, and let you know what's been happening behind the scenes.
The short version: new stories are coming.
The longer, much more exciting version: I’ve been working on a new fantasy series, and I’m finally ready to start introducing you to the people who live in this world. First up are the heroines. My graphic designer created a video to help bring them forward in a beautiful, dramatic way, and I cannot wait for you to see them. Keep scrolling :)

A big wave from the writing cave
If you’ve been checking in here, thank you. If you’ve been following elsewhere, thank you, too. I love having different little corners where we can talk about books, characters, romance, different kinds of worlds, and all the delicious trouble that characters get themselves into.
And right now, there's plenty to share.
A new fantasy series is taking shape
The new series has been growing in that wonderful, unruly way stories do. It actually started with a dream. And then the world began to widen. A LOT.
There are multiple planes, realms and rules. Old wounds and dangerous choices. Magic with consequences. Mythical beasts and love stories that don't arrive politely, like, at all. Characters who want things badly enough to risk not only their own hide, but everyone else's as well.
But here's the bottom line: whether I’m writing paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi or contemporary novels, I need there to be a fierce emotional pull. The heart of the story must matter as much as the adventure.
This new series has all of that, as well as heroines I already adore.
Meet our leading ladies
This introduction belongs to the the pulse of this series: the ladies, period.
They're not standing around waiting for fate to become convenient. They have histories, secrets, and loyalties that will be tested. They have powers they don't fully understand, and hearts that aren't nearly as guarded as they believe.
So, while some of our heroines know exactly what they want, others are lying to themselves while trying to survive long enough to figure things out.
One of the videos my graphic designer made gives you a first look and it's not meant to tell you everything. It's more like a door slightly ajar, just enough to let in a sliver of light. In other words, it's a total teaser [insert evil grin here, my minions]!
Next, you’ll meet the heroes. And yes, I am absolutely saying that with a delighted little “Woohoo!!” and a giggle. More on that next time.
I’m creating a worldbuilding class!
The other piece of news that several folks have asked me for: I’m creating a worldbuilding class. Finally!
Worldbuilding is one of those topics writers can talk about forever because it touches everything. Magic systems. Geography. Power. Culture. Food. Clothing. Family structures. Politics. Language. The everyday habits that make a place feel lived in.
A beautiful world is awesome, but a world that pressures the characters, shapes their choices, and raises the stakes is even better.
In the class, we’ll talk about building all kinds of worlds, not just fantasy, that feel rich without overwhelming info dumps. We’ll look at how to create settings that support romance, conflict, intrigue and character growth, minus getting buried in details that can "stall out" the writing and make for boring reading. Oh, and readers are welcome in the class, too.
