Most of the reviews for Egyptian Voyage have been good. But after a couple of reviewers just really didn’t “get it” this made my freakin’ month!

A three-month vacation seems quite an ordeal for undercover agent Chrysalyn Geyer who doesn’t think of doing anything outside work. A suave fellow traveler, Eden Pall finds her interesting and the sabbatical starts to feel a little better. While she is adjusting, Rahn Benson appears as a blast from her past and fills up her mind with naughty ideas. Protected by their spirit guides, will they have a second chance at love when evil can touch them any where they go?
Chrysalyn is a delightful kick-ass, take charge woman of color. While her strength and attitude make you love her, you can’t help but fall for Rahn’s irresistible charm. All senses are heightened as they near each other, eager to give and take pleasure. As they share a history, their joining seems inevitable and much-needed. Their rapid-fire banter is as stimulating as the heady sex they indulge in. There is just the right amount of indulgence in this tale perfectly in sync with the lead characters’ emotions. The plot deftly brings in a killer with a deadly obsession, while you are highly charged and ready for the intrusion.
As part of the Torrid Tarot series, ‘The Empress’ card is dealt with this time and she comes up in a very unusual manner not belonging to the lead pair but to the killer. The silent threat hangs over every move Chrys and Rahn make making delicious goose bumps appear every now and then. The idea of having spirit guides as learned as Mahpiya and Adonei is truly intriguing making the story juicier than it would have been otherwise. I also liked how the characters were revealed bit by bit rather than having chunks of information. Seamlessly interwoven male and female point of views keeps the tale sailing smooth without any major jerks. The story is enhanced by the pleasant cruise and colorful shore trips. Though the nail-biting finale came a tad too late in the fabulous setting of Alexandria, it had me on the edge of my seat waiting for Chrys to make use of her killer tactics.
Egyptian Voyage is a leisurely journey that will surely jolt libidos by its red-hot romance and suspenseful finish.
